The next major update for Minecraft has been announced, it will be called The Wild, and will focus on the game’s wilderness and biomes. While some fans are still waiting for the second part of the Caves & Cliffs update, others are turning their attention to all of the new content coming with The Wild update.
The Wild will bring with it a load of new features to make the games wilderness feel even more alive, new items including boats with chests in them and a brand new biome Deep Dark.
The release is scheduled to arrive at some point in 2022, no exact date has been set but we can expect Mojang to release more information on this in the coming weeks/months.
The swamp biome is the main focus of the new update, overhauling it completely. Swamps will now feature a new mud block as well as new Mangrove trees in a new Mangrove Swamp Biome and a new type of wood to build with.
Fans have been requesting Mojang add boats with chests to the game for a long time now, and it looks like players prayers have been answered as they are coming with this update. you’ll now be able to transport a load more goods over water.
Frogs and Tadpoles are also being added to swamps.

A new biome called the Deep Dark is being added which brings a new mob called The Warden, a blind mob which senses players through vibrations, you’ll also find plenty of chests to loot in this new area. Mojang have said that the Deep Dark biome will be “as big, dark, deep, and absolutely terrifying as possible”
