GTA fans are incredibly excited about the upcoming remaster of GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas, and the upcoming trailer for the Trilogy gave fans a closer look at everything they can expect from the ‘new’ games.
The reaction from fans was mixed, lots of fans had complaints about the remake while other only had praise for Rockstar’s efforts. The trailer showed all of the three games in their remastered glory, but it was Vice City that attracted the most attention from fans, more accurately, it was Thomas “Tommy” Vercetti.
Tommy looks a little different this time around.
The years haven’t been kind to Tommy and it looks like he’s a little chubbier than he was 20 years ago.
Reddit user ‘_asteroidblues’ took to the platform to share their thoughts on his new look, the post read “Why did they make Tommy so much fatter for the Definitive Edition?”
The post was soon flooded with comments from other users who wanted to share their own thoughts on his look, one user wrote “They had to create the body fat mechanics in Unreal Engine for SA anyway, I wonder if they’ve added it to the other games too. It would explain Tommy’s new look. Then again perhaps it’s just how the model’s going to be.”
Another said “Could’ve been what the developers originally envisioned for Tommy but in all honesty his build in the original is pretty basic to all the other character models.”
A third wrote “I personally don’t mind it at all. I always felt back in the days that they just copy & pasted the character model from GTA 3 to Vice city so I’m embracing the change”.
Is his change in shape really that big of a deal? After all it is a fictional character, however it seems that it has really seemed to have rubbed some fans up the wrong way.
