The survival stealth horror game Agony which also has a NSFW version named Agony Unrated has recently been removed from Steam. The game was initially released back in 2018 from Madmind Studios followed by the Unrated version, the goal of the game is to journey through horrifying worlds in hopes of escaping hell.
Players must play as a soul as they battle through to find the Red Goddess on a quest to survive, however it didn’t take log for the title to run into some technical issues resulting in it being cancelled.
Despite the game being cancelled, it somehow ended up on Steam anyways. Many players were left frustrated as they could no longer gain access to the uncensored version of the game as it seems Steam has unlinked the two versions.
Now, Madmind Studios have issues a statement which explains that any player who has a copy of Agony Unrated which was since taken away will be granted it back as a free DLC.
“Hi Everyone, in a couple of days we plan on released a DLC version of UNRATED which will allow Agony owners to download this adult-only expansion without payment. As we’re still waiting for full confirmation from Steam’s side, I cannot share all the details, but once it’s up we’ll release a full announcement.”
Previously, players who had purchases the original version of Agony were given the unrated version too as a bonus only to have it later disappear from the Steam library
“Unfortunately, we still don’t have full knowledge on why they were delinked and we’re unable to link the games again using our own tools, so we’re now in contact with Steam support to work out the solution that’ll satisfy everyone.”
However, for those players who purchases the unrated version found that they were able to hold onto their copies, it was only the players who were in possession of the linked version who faced issues.
