Battlefield 2042 was a major disappointment for fans of the shooting franchise. Most players have already jumped shipped with the player base averaging around 2,000 concurrents on Steam. After failing to hit the expected number with 2042, the Battlefield team have allegedly returned to the drawing board to work on the next game.
Reports have suggested that there is a brand new Battlefield title currently in development, although this title in a very early stage of development, it seems that the team are keen not to repeat mistakes that were made with Battlefield 2042.
A source said “I think we’ll be reverting a lot of the changes we made in Battlefield 2042”.
Although, details on the next instalment in the franchise are sparse at the moment, it could be that the next title may not feature the 128 player count element.
Such a large capacity often lead to players being stuck with long waiting times as servers were struggling to be filled as the overall player count declined.
It is likely that we will see huge changes in the next title in order to try and revive the franchise, rumours have even suggested that the next title will be set in a near future setting.
Reports claim that the majority of DICE have now began work on the next title, although there is still a strong team currently working on Battlefield 2042.
It is unclear what to expect from this new title at this stage.
