Marauders takes place in an alternate history where ‘the Great War’ has never actually ended, if there is one thing that players will experience in this game, it’s that life is cruel. Lead designer at Small Impact Games, Cameron Small said “Losing all your stuff is tough,” which was originally reported by PCGamesN.
Small said “it’s a tough thing to get over. But I don’t think any feeling beats it in terms of progression.”
The title is described as a risky game of strategy, the studio was created from a love of survival games as well as a number of other influences that have been used to develop Marauders.
The studio have also briefly explained what fans can expect from the title when it releases, Small also noted “Your first raid could be your best raid, or your worst”.
The trailers description reads “Step into the dieselpunk setting of Marauders for some solo or up to four-player PvE or PvP space-pirate looter-shooter action, using your earned-in-game XP to purchase persistent gear – along with upgradeable ships for the dogfighting side of gameplay. Marauders will enter PC Early Access later this year.”
Players will be put into a crew consisting of themselves and three others in a ship in the middle of space, the game is also set to feature a number of maps, from what we’ve seen so far it looks like we could be in store for some asteroid fields.
Marauders will be holding a closed alpha for anyone who pre-orders the game, but in the meantime be sure to check back with us at Gamerficial for the latest news and updates.
