Activision are taking a step back from their usual annual release cycle, rumours are suggesting that 2023 will be the first year without a new instalment in the franchise.
This has left fans wondering just what will take place in the next year, can we really expect Activision to let a full year pass without any new content? Popular leaker ‘RalphsValve’ recently took to Twitter with claims that Activision are planning on releasing remastered Call of Duty titles.

The post read “Activision are reportedly considering releasing Remastered Call of Duty titles repurposed for newer consoles to fill out the empty space between Premium Call of Duty titles”.
Ralph also went on to say “World at War, Call of Duty 1 & 2 – backwards compatibility for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Remastered are currently what’s in conversation. Everything else was described by an associate as “complicated”.
“Addressing the confusion, MWR is supposedly coming to Nintendo Switch, it’s first introductory into the Call of Duty franchise for the console.”
Of course we have seen CoD remasters from Activision in the past, but is it likely that we will see this in place of a new title in 2023?
